Tweens Camp Newsletter

 Dear Parents and Children,

Week five was alive-

With all sorts of fun!

The counselors and kids,

Were all on the run.

We Tie-Dyed our shirts,

So we would be on a team.

The Olympics are next week,

And we’ll all make the scene.

Welcome all of our campers to the second four weeks at Jay’s Camp. There will be many new and exciting programs in store for all of our campers, with sports, games, contests, Olympics, the famous Jay’s Carnival and Much, Much, More!

Extensions: We do have some openings left for weeks 6,7, and 8. Just call the office to make arrangements.

Picture Day: Picture Day will be Monday July 26th. All campers should wear their Jay’s T-Shirts!

Bus Information: Please have your campers ready for the bus in the morning. If we constantly have to ring doorbells or wait for a camper, it adds time to the route and makes other campers’ times later.

Communication: If you need to speak with us with any comments, suggestions, or concerns about camp or your child, please contact the appropriate person listed below-

Swimming- Sherry or Shawn

Bussing- Robin or Nikki W.

Day Camp- Melissa

Sports Camp- Tony or Tony

SAC Camp- Stacey or Nikki W.

Tweens- Rory

It is important to use that we meet you and your campers needs.

E-Mail: We believe that we have everyone’s email addresses. Please let us know if you are not receiving e-mails from us. Please check your E-Mail daily for updates about camp and upcoming activities and events at Jay’s.

Inter-Camp Counselor Tournament: Jay’s Camp challenged Banner Day Camp to a softball game on Monday July 19th. Banner won the first game 7-5. However, Jay’s Camp (Hooray!!) beat Banner in the second game 17-3. Way to go Jay’s Camp!!!

The Tweens started the summer’s second session with a bang. On Monday they went to Barefoot Bay Water Park. Mike and Trevor spent much of the day showing off their considerable Frisbee skills, and everyone enjoyed floating around in the lazy river and going down all of the waterslides.

On Tuesday the Tweens kicked off the second sessions Newcomb tournament with a closely fought best of seven series. A new camper at Jay’s, Kent, wowed everybody when he went undefeated against fierce competition in Spaceball. Sammie spent the morning showing off her pottery skills when she created a very impressive duck. Scottie showed everyone his skills on the climbing wall when he was the fastest camper to climb all the way to the top, and Drew spent the day diving for pennies in the pool.

Wednesday was the Tweens trip to Action Territory where everyone spent the day riding go-karts and bumper boats and doing laser tag. Tommy spent the day racking up tickets so he could bring home some very impressive prizes.

Thursday was the Tween’s first round of bowling leagues and cookout. Happily the rain held off and it turnout to be a very nice day to have a barbeque!

On Friday the Tweens will have an exciting trip to Gameworks to finish out the Week!
