Jay's Summer Camp - Week 2

After five days of sun, fun, games, and activities, our wonderful campers are getting ready for more weeks of great activities at Jay’s Camp 2010. As we settle into the summer, I want all the parents to know how committed all of our staff is to each and every child. All of us at Jay’s Camp will build self-esteem for every child. We want to make sure that all campers go home with a smile on his or her face and feel good about themselves.

On the buses this week we celebrated the upcoming 4th of July holiday with Red, White, and Blue day. Camper’s also enjoyed trivia bus programming all week!

TNT Sports Camp Unit Heads

What?? Week two is already over? As you can tell this summer is going to fly by. Good thing TNT are packing in the fun each week. Again, the weather was awesome for us and we took full advantage of it. We continued to create a real NHL atmosphere in Jays stadium, with real horns, National Anthem, and announcers. Lets not forget the unbelievable creative abilities from the guys who are planning out and building the boats in clubs. We had an all around great week 2 in Sports Camp. Lets keep on rolling into week 3. Have a great 4th of July.

Sports Camp 2nd Grade

SC 2 Jon's Team X

Chase D. did an excellent job this past week during leagues. Chase managed to catch numerous difficult fly balls during baseball, even making a diving catch that helped lead his team to victory. He not only tries hard, but also is a very good sport in the process by cheering on his teammates constantly.

Lucas H. has been a great help in the group thus far. Whenever equipment needs to be shared, Lucas is always the first person to offer to share without hesitation. In addition to this admirable trait, Lucas also did a great job in hockey this week by scoring a spectacular goal that went right under the goalie's legs.

Sports Camp 3rd Grade

Adams 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks! --

This week was another exciting one for Adam's Blackhawks! Ben N. started the week off with a bang, as he was the hole-in-one leader on the new mini-golf course! Great job Tiger! The weather was great this week and that made for a fun time in the pool! Max R. showed us all his skills with a front crawl that will surely help him compete with Michael Phelps in the next Olympics! Keep it up Max! Go Blackhawks!

Zack's Soda Pop

Wow, another week has already gone by at Jay's, and so much has happened! The Soda Pop had a great week, dominating in everything they did. Ryan owned the paint, placing in the top 2 and even winning a game of knockout at basketball. In football in Leagues, Brad showed off his great hands, catching everything in sight. Geoff looked like the next Wayne Gretzky, scoring the game-winning goal in hockey. I hope next week can be even better for the Soda Pop!

Sports Camp 4th Grade

Joe's Scorpions

This week was great! The weather was perfect and our group thrived in it. Alec R. came to basketball prepared to play. Not one other guy was able to out shoot him! Paul P. walked into the hockey rink as if he was part of the champion Chicago Blackhawks. Not one goal, not two goals, but did anyone say hat trick? A song comes on & suddenly you think about me. What song is playing? Pass it on and see how many krazy songs you get!

Silver's Hawks

Wow!! What a second week for the Hawks! The boys followed up their

Monumental first week by going out and doing an amazing job in every

aspect of Jay's Camp in week 2. It all started when Kyle W took his

leagues team on his back and hit a game tying Grand Slam in the final

inning! Maybe you should enter that Homerun Derby after all Kyle!! We

then saw the terminator-like toughness of Alan S during an epic game

of capture the flag! Keep it up Alan!! None of these events could be

overshadowed by Harry S big performance during the match against the

older 5th graders. Way to step up big Harry! And the cherry on top of

this phenomenal week was Ian G and his presence on the volleyball

court he was catching everything out there! Nice job Ian!! Boys, let's

keep the good times rolling as the summer of 2010 will be the best one yet!

Sports Camp 5th Grade

Albert’s Troublemakers

Week two at Jay's camp was astounding!  Every camper really got into the swing of things as the first session marches towards the half way point.  This week in the gaga pit Jake S. Was the king winning the all around contest twice in a row!  That is unheard of!  In leagues Jake F. blasted homerun after homerun to nice to rally his team to victory.  He really is some kind of Power hitter!  On the dance floor Phillip W. Busted out some of his favorite moves.  Maybe one day we Will se him on dancing with the stars!  The first two weeks of camp are awesome and I think the next two will simply be unbelievable!

Mike's Jayhawks

Hello families and campers I can't believe it's week two already. The jayhawks have really started to bond with each other, cheering each other on during the various games and activities we do. During week two a few boys really stepped up and stood out. During leagues earlier this week Matt P. went not 2 for 2 but 3 for 3 with 3 long balls that's right 3 homeruns I'm sure his league team will be batting him near the top the rest of the summer! Also this was the first time the boys had a chance to go through the inflatable obstacle course. On Tuesday we spent about a half hour racing through and no one shinned as bright as Alec F. Alec showed no fear challenging all the fastest jayhawks to races through the course. I hope everyone has a fireworks filled weekend (saftey first) have fun everyone and we will see you guys on Tuesday!

Sports Camp 6 & 7

Mike watkins

The crew

Jays seems to be flying by with our second week coming to a close. We had interest groups this week and for it we played home run derby where Alec S. won the whole thing with 40 huge points. Alec was crushing the ball left and right making the ball soar over the fence in left field. Another fun activity we had this week was Jurassic

Survivor where Scott G. and David F. were like lightning they were so

fast. Just as you saw them go in to the obstacle course they were

coming out shortly after. It was pretty hard to keep up with these two

speed demons.

K's Swagdaddys----

Well the second week at Jays is in full swing and it’s proving to be another one to remember. The sun has come in and the excitement has come right along

with it. Jack L. has been lighting up the scoreboard with thirteen ribbies in just three days! Keep it up Jack! Zack P. has shown he’s a force on the nukum

court knocking out the competition one after another. Wouldn't want to be facing up across the net from him. Great job Zack!
