DAY CAMP NEWSLETTER – WEEK SEVEN
Dear Day Campers, Parents and Families,
Week seven at Jay’s Camp proved to be the best by far! The week was jam-packed with lots of super fun activities, including some new games, a few special surprises, and our annual Jay’s Carnival. The campers had a great time during the Carnival on Wednesday afternoon where they were able to get their faces painted, watch the Amazing Animals show, bounce in the Moonwalk, play carnival games, win prizes, dunk counselors in the Dunk Tank, enjoy sno-cones and cotton candy, etc. No Jay’s Camp Carnival day would be complete without a special visit from Madame Foosberry and her assistant, Ms. Froo-Froo! The children loved hearing Madame Foosberry’s silly fortunes. The Day Campers loved Carnival day, and everyone had a great time!
The Day Campers have been doing a fabulous job at each of their daily activities. I am so proud of them for trying new things and working towards achieving their goals. The Day Campers are all little fishies in the swimming pool…they have been working so hard during their swimming lessons and many of the children have been passing to the next swimming level! The Day Campers are all so brave when it comes to the Climbing Tower…many of the Day Campers have even made it all the way to the top! Way to go, Day Campers! I couldn’t be more proud!!
I am sad to say that we only have one more week together at Jay’s Camp. I have had a great time getting to know all of your children this summer, and I truly will miss them all.
NEXT WEEK….Get excited for tons of fun and surprises during our final week of the summer! Our theme next week is NATURE, so the Day Campers will be participating in a variety of fun (and messy!) activities. We will also be having our End-of-the-Summer Luau & Beach Party on Wednesday.
Parents, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at camp (847-438-2267).
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, DAY CAMPERS! GET READY FOR AN EXCITING 8TH WEEK AT JAY’S CAMP!!!

NICK’S MARSHMALLOWS
Seven weeks has come and gone, and what an unforgettable summer we've had. This week the children had the opportunity to enjoy carnival day. Having the opportunity to participate in games and win different prizes, we all had a wonderful time. This week we had a huge game of soccer, which included all of the boys from day camp. Zach M really made a name for himself and he stood out among all of the kids. With that many defenseman on the field, scoring a goal is nearly impossible, but Zach thought otherwise. Scoring 2 of the 5 goals himself, Zach astonished us all! The children of Jay's Camp got the privilege of rocking out with the international stars, The Mammadons. Live music at Jay's and all the other experiences are what truly makes Jay’s camp unique. It is sad to think all of the good times we have had are coming to a close, but we look forward to another great week at camp!
MIKE’S RAINBOW DRAGONS
Hello parents and campers! The highlight of the week was the amazing carnival. The campers could hardly wait for the events to begin on Wednesday. The carnival started up with a petting zoo and animal show featuring various snakes, lizards, small furry rodents, and even an alligator! All the dragons had a chance to pet these animals if they wanted too, and almost all of them even touched the Alligator. I was so proud of all these tough guys. One camper who sure showed the most courage was Mr. Mark S on Wednesday morning during the climbing tower. Mark climbed just shy of the 3/4 mark up the wall. Way to go Mark! Next week is the final week here at Jay's and sadly we will have to all say goodbye. But we still have 5 more days of fun. Talk to you next week! -Counselor Mike-

JORI’S BUMBLEBEES
I cannot believe we are down to our last week of camp! The Bumblebees have been doing a great job with all their activities this week. In art they made some very fancy jewelry boxes that they seemed to really enjoy making. Angela G did a great job putting hers together and decorating it! In pottery we began to make our puzzles and will be able to decorate them next week. We also continued working on our swimming skills and had two more Bumblebees pass this week. Both Fiona D and Natalie K passed from green to red! Great job girls! Along with all our fun activities, this week we had carnival day! The girls enjoyed the animals at the petting zoo that came to camp. They also enjoyed getting their faces painted, yummy treats, and a moonwalk! This summer has gone by so quickly, but I am looking forward to see what fun we have in store for the last week of camp!

RYAN’S WHITE SOX
It's week 7, which means carnival day! The group had fun on Wednesday during the carnival playing games and winning prizes. They also got to enjoy snow cones and cotton candy. This past week Alec L scored two goals for his team in soccer. Eli G scored eight points to lead his team to victory in basketball. Sean G had a hat trick in hockey this week, while also not letting up any goals in soccer to lead his team to victory. Great job, White Sox!
COLLIN’S CHICAGO BULLS
Wow campers! Camp is flying by and there are still so many campers doing a great job at Jay’s Camp! This week Sam L not only has been striving in sports, but he has been showing his other great potential in music. During music Sam has been showing great excitement and has really been showing his peers how to jam out to some music. Sam can play any instrument with style, but when it comes to the drumsticks he knows how to make a beat. If Sam can keep this up he is going to be a rock star in no time. Also this week we have discovered that Tomer B is the new Antti Niemi. While playing hockey at Jay’s Camp, Tomer shows the true colors of a goalie in hockey. Tomer would stop every shot at him without even thinking, and has done tremendously well at being goalie during hockey. If Tomer can keep this up we may one day see him winning another Stanley Cup for the Chicago Blackhawks. We have had so much fun this week at camp, and we still have one week left and I know the Bulls are going to make it count. I am excited to continue having fun with all of the bulls and cant wait for our next superstars at Jay’s Camp

ALLI’S CUPCAKES
This week was full of fun and exciting activities! Brooklyn R. climbed all the way to the top of the climbing wall, and Daniela S. flew through the obstacle course in record time! Also, Jillian K. made a beautiful jewelry box in art this week, and Camille M. made a gorgeous beaded bracelet! Great job girls! We also had our Jay's Camp Carnival this week! All of the girls had a blast playing carnival games, eating snow cones, and even getting face paint! I can't believe we only have one week left but I'm sure it's going to be a great one!
