Sac Camp Newsletter

Dear Parents and Children,

I can’t believe this is the eighth week and the summer is over. Each and every year I reflect on summers past. Each year I look back on the experiences of every camper and staff member and each summer I experience sadness because I have to say goodbye to another year at Jay’s Camp. This is the twenty-sixth year of Jay’s Camp and after each year I can’t wait until the next summer of fun, friendship, and good times. This year is no exception. I am committed to making next summer the best summer your children will ever experience. Each and every year I add a new and exciting piece of equipment to my camp. This year we added a state of the art miniature golf course, expanded our outdoor stadium, and upgraded our climbing tower and obstacle course. Next year we will have more special programs and activities to my camp.

Early Enrollment for 2011: On or about Sept. 15th, each Jay’s camper family will receive registration and information forms for next summer. The early discounts in October will be substantial; making Jay’s the most competitively priced camp on the North Shore. This year, the size of your deposit will reflect on your final balance which will no doubt be extremely attractive to you. Also, keep in mind that if you refer a new camper to Jay’s Camp, you will receive financial consideration. These discounts will save you a lot of money and I hope you take advantage of it. The biggest and more creative discounts will be the “October Early Discount”.

E-Mail: Please check your e-mail for special information during the year.

I wish all of my campers and their family a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2011 and I look forward to seeing all of my Jay’s Campers smiling faces next summer. Thank you for the loan of your child and for your confidence in my program. Until next year, I leave you with these thoughts:

Oh where or where has the Summer gone

I can’t believe that this week is the last.

Sports, Swimming, Drama, Dance, Special Programs and more

The Carnival was really a blast!

Day Camp, Sports Camp, Sac, Tweens and CIT’s

Are the units of this special place.

And everything we do has just one goal

To put a smile on your camper’s little face.

For four or eight weeks we bonded together

With fun and the happiest of days.

And boys and girls, know they are so special

At this amazing place called Jay’s.

With a lump in my throat

I’ll say good bye

As I wipe away my tears.

It’s only 10 months; I just can’t wait

To see you at Jay’s next year.

Fondly,

Jay

SAC CAMP

It is hard to believe that the summer has come to an end. This summer has been so much fun and full of so many great activities and programs. The girls had such a fun-filled week with lots of surprises and special programs to end our summer. Although this week was so hot, the girls kept cool with extra swims, sprinkler, downpour derby and many other water games. We are so proud of all our SAC girls for the amazing job they did with performances this week. They all worked soooooo hard and all their effort was seen during performances on Thursday. The dancers showed off their swift moves in dance. The artists showed off all of their creative minds in art and pottery. The gymnasts demonstrated their flexibility at gymnastics. The actresses showed off their talent and acting skills during our musical review. It is so wonderful to see the girls shine in all the favorite areas. They are a very talented group of girls. On Friday, SAC Camp spent a lot of the day with their groups and had a chance to participate in some other special all unit activities. The girls did a scavenger hunt, with a special surprise waiting at the end. They all had such a blast!!!! We can’t believe that the eight weeks have come and gone so quickly! Thank you so much parents for letting us have your daughters for the summer!! Each SAC Camper is so wonderful and has so much to offer. Our unit is complete because of each and every SAC Camper. We hope you all have a great school year! Work really hard in school, and get ready for next summer! We are going to miss all of you so much!!!! We love you SAC Camp!

Marissa’s Milkshakes

I cannot believe that camp is over. What a great summer we had and I will miss everyone of you girls so much! We have made so many memories, and this week was so special. This wee we made milkshakes and celebrate Jackie Z.’s birthday, had performances and so many more great things. This week, Jessica D. made a stained glass window during art. It was so colorful and creative that it looked professional. During leagues this week, Karsen K. was an all star. She was such an awesome kickball player and led the team to victory. Jackie Z. was such a good dancer and should be a professional dancer when she grows up. Well girls, I hope you have a great school year! Good luck with everything! Thank you so much for making my summer amazing!! Miss you so much!!! Xoxoxo Marissa

Amanda’s Animal Bands

I cannot believe that this is the last week!  This summer has gone by so fast, and my group and I had such a great time together.  On Monday, we all decided to play dodge ball together and I could not believe how amazing Sarah T. is at playing the game!  She was dodging, jumping and running away from those balls faster than anyone and was one of the last girls out each game we played. Alex W. proved to me that she is one unbelievable swimmer. .  I hope all my girls have a great rest of the summer and an amazing school year!  Hope to see you all next summer! Amanda

Alexis’ All Stars

This has been a wonderful end of summer! This has been a crazy week for the girls. Mika F. did a wonderful job in her class preparing for the show! She has truely been working her hardest. It shows that all the girls have really had a wonderful summer; They were able to show each other new activities and sports. As sad as I am to see this summer end I know all the girls will have fun at school! I look forward to seeing them all next year to keep the fun of Jays Camp going! Have a wonderful end of summer and a safe school year!

Rachel’s Rockers

Wow! I can’t believe the summer at Jay’s is coming to an end. This has been such a fun summer and I am so sad that it is over and it went by so fast. I hope you all are ready for a great school year. This week was the most fun week of camp. On Tuesday, we played neucomb and Lauren G. did an awesome job and dove and caught so many of the throws. Great job Laur! In art, we made stained glass windows and Sammy S. showed off her creative side and made a beautiful piece. It shines beautifully in the sun. On Wednesday we played a game in dance and Alexa J. showed off her jumping skills and jumped the farthest over the ropes. Way to go Alexa! I am so glad that I had all of you girls in my group. It was so much fun getting to know each of you and spending so much time with you all this summer. Have an amazing school year and I will see you next summer! Love you!!! Rachel.

Lauren’s Oompa Loompas

Our last week of camp has been amazing! As the summer flew by, friendships grew and everlasting memories were made. This week was a very hot one, but it was an awesome ending to Jay’s 2010. Ely L. made her last run through the obstacle course at incredible speed. We also had a chance to make silly puddy as a group time activity. On pedal cars, Samantha F. raced her friends as we played a fun new game. Aliya B. and Natalie G. have worked so hard as they tried to perfect their strokes for the end of the summer. Way to go girls! It has been great getting to know everyone and we have all had such an amazing summer. Thank you to everyone and I will miss you all. Have a great school year and good luck!!!!

Nikki’s Ninjas

I can't believe it's the last week of camp! This summer has been such a blast! We've been making this last week the best week ever! In art, we made stained glass windows and Samantha S. made one with different shapes that were all connected. It was awesome. You could be an artist Sam! It's definitely been a hotter week than others, so we've spent some extra time at downpour derby where the girls invented their own new water game. They combined the regular bucket races at downpour derby with drip, drip, drop and had so much fun! That game will be played for years to come I'm sure. We've had such a great time this summer and I'm so sad it has to end. I'll miss all of you so much! Have a great year and I hope to see you all again next summer! xoxo, Jenna

7th Grade

Amy’s Avatars

The last week of camp has been amazing. I can't believe that this summer has gone by so fast. This week Miranda G. made a beautiful bead bracelet during jewelry club. Its looks great! Sarah H. and Jenna K. had a blast on Space Ball. We also had SAC performances. Rachel S. sung her heart out during the play. Great vocals Rachel. Sarah S. made colorful initials "S.S.". It looks so cool Sarah. SAC performances were amazing. This summer was so much fun with the Avatars. I hope that all the Avatars have a fantastic school year and I hope to see you next summer.  I will miss you so much.

XOXOXO Amy
