Jay’s Summer Camp - Week 1
“Hi” to all of our campers at Jay’s Camp for another summer filled with sun, fun, and good times! Each and every one of our Unit Directors, Counselors, Specialists, Grounds Crew, and Bus Drivers are committed to providing the most rewarding experience for your child. I personally look forward to welcoming all of Jay’s Campers and families. Many exciting and special programs lie ahead this summer.
News from the Pool
Parents, please make sure you change your child’s swim tag to the swimsuit they are taking to camp. We are testing children on an ongoing basis and will continue to provide the highest quality Red Cross Certified swim program. Other things at the pool to be excited for include games, contests, and Water Olympics!
Bussing
Jay’s Camp is one of the only camps on the North Shore that uses professional bus drivers. There are also two of our very own counselors on every bus, a bus programmer and a safety counselor. Please have your child ready in the morning, as our bus schedule times are consistent. Please remind your children that for obvious safety reasons, there is no eating allowed on the bus.
Lost and Found
Each year we have a lot of lost items that are donated to charity. Please label all clothes, hats, water bottles, etc…, with their name and unit (DC, SAC,SC, TS,CIT) so that we can return all lost items.
Special Programs for Next Week
Friday will be Red, White, and Blue Day. Wear your most patriotic clothing in celebration of the Fourth of July.
Sports Camp will be having a Counselor vs Gladiator Program. Day Camp will be enjoying Outer Space Day.

DAY CAMP NEWSLETTER – WEEK 0NE
Dear Day Campers, Parents and Families,
Welcome to another fun-filled summer at Jay’s Camp! I am so excited to spend eight weeks getting to know your children. We have lots of fun activities and surprises planned this summer, and we have already gotten off to a great start! This week, the Day Campers had a wonderful time meeting all of our new friends and getting acquainted with Jay’s Camp. Each group came up with a unique group name, and they presented them to the rest of Day Camp. We tried lots of new games, sports, and activities this week and we had a super fun time! Another highlight this week was our annual Unbirthday Party on Wednesday. We celebrated each child’s birthday by playing games, making our own party hats, and decorating and enjoying birthday cupcakes. We had a fabulous first week in Day Camp, and I can’t wait for all the fun to come!
NEXT WEEK…..Get ready to blast off because Day Camp is taking a trip to Outer Space!!
Parents, please feel free to contact me at anytime at camp if you have any questions or concerns! Also, please remember to label all of your child’s belongings with their name. This will help us to identify each child’s belongings at the end of the day. Thanks so much for all of your help!

NICK’S BLUE ROCKETS
The Blue Rockets had an excellent first week of camp! On Thursday, our group gets the opportunity to climb Jay’s rock climbing tower. It is not an easy task to climb to the top of the tower, but David N. thought otherwise. He climbed the wall just like Spiderman scaling up a building, making it look easy! We are going to need a bigger tower at Jay’s for David! This week we gathered all the day camp boys to play a big game of hockey at Jay’s stadium. The game was looking really one-sided after one team was down 5-2 after 3 consecutive goals scored by the winning team. Just as the game had seemed to be over, Brandon S. decided to do something about his losing team. Brandon scored 3 consecutive goals single handedly tying the game. It was truly amazing, way to go Brandon. Thanks for a great week, Blue Rockets! See you on Monday!

JORI’S BUNNIES
Hi friends and families,
What a great first week of camp! We met a lot of new friends and did many different activities. We got to color at art, and we made bowls at pottery. We played with instruments and danced at music, and we played games in the field and played a lot on the playground. On Wednesday we had a “un-birthday” party for all the day campers at camp. During this time the children got to decorate party hats and cupcakes. What the girls seem to enjoy the most is swimming. They get to swim twice a day, once for instructional swim, and the other time for free swim. This week Angela G. passed from yellow to green in swimming! Caroline R. was a pro at pottery; she made her bowl with barely any help! All of the girls were great this week. I am so excited to get to know them better and continue our fun the rest of the summer!

RYAN’S BLACKHAWKS
It was a great first week at camp. Jesse and I had so much fun with our group. Zach L did a fantastic job by scoring 3 goals in hockey to lead his team to victory. On Tuesday, Evan Z moved up from green to red in swimming. Also, Sam V finished the obstacle course faster than anyone else. I'm looking forward to seeing progress in all my campers for the remainder of the summer! Great job, Blackhawks!
COLLIN’S COYOTES
Welcome campers to the first week of summer and Jay’s Camp!! This week has already been a very exciting week for the first grade Coyotes. As a team, we have already done drama, pottery, volleyball, music, climbing wall, dance, gymnastics, pedal cars, basketball, soccer, and swimming. Everyday has been better than the next and we just can’t stop having fun! It has been amazing to see Sam L strive in every single activity and be successful. He is always the first to volunteer to play in each sport, and he shows great potential for the future. If he keeps this up, he is going to be the next all-star. The coyotes also had a special surprise this week, because on Tuesday, Alan F turned six years old, and we had the privilege to celebrate Alan’s birthday and sing happy birthday to him. Before we know it, he is going to be old enough to be a camp counselor at Jay’s Camp. I have been teaching the Coyotes about sportsmanship and how to become friends. Tomer B has been my right hand man this week. He’s helped me teach each Coyote what sportsmanship means and how we are all friends. Tomer is always the first to give up something for a camper. He shows each camper how to have fun no matter which activity we are doing, and he is kind and courteous to his peers and me as well. We have already started off with a very great week, and I know each day is only going to get better. I am very exited for next week, and I can’t wait to help teach the Coyotes new skills in our activities to help them become more successful and most importantly to have a fun and awesome time at Jay’s Camp.

ALLI’S ANIMALS
Our summer at Jay's Camp is off to a great start! During our first week of camp, we explored many different activities like art, dance, and gymnastics. We even picked a group name! We've decided to be Alli's Animals! In art this week, Allison F. used her creative art skills and made an awesome mask! Also, this week in basketball, Madden L. made 15 baskets! Great job girls! Our whole group had a blast at our unbirthday party! We made party hats, decorated birthday treats, and sang happy birthday to everyone! We had so much fun this first week, and I can't wait for next week!
