TNT Sports Camp Unit Heads
Welcome Back!! Welcome Back!! Welcome Back!! Jays 2010 has officially started. We have kids playing in the World Cup Soccer, winning the Stanley Cup in Jay’s Stadium, and taking over the Masters in the state-of-the-art mini-golf course. The weather has been great, and every camper has taken advantage of it. Great job everyone. We had a great start to the summer. Wait until you see what we have in-store for next week. It’s Dyno-Mite.

SC 2 Jon's Team X
This week Stone G. showed how much he liked hip hop on the first day of camp. Immediately when we got to the hip-hop instructors, Stone asked to learn how to do the worm. This might have been the best icebreaker for our group, as everyone was very involved in learning the very difficult dance move. Stone helped lead the group during dance and was very helpful and encouraging while other campers were attempting the worm. Doogy L. also wasted no time getting involved during camp, especially during dodge ball. Doogy managed to get eliminated less than anyone on his time by using his speed to avoid any balls coming his way. He always had a smile on his face as well as encouraging the other team to keep "trying" to get him out. He did a great job of keeping the game fun and fair even though he was being competitive.

Adams 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks! --
The summer started great this week at jays! The Blackhawks kicked things off in the sun on the golf course! It was Justin R who made his mark on the newly renovated course with 2 hole-in-one shots! Great job Justin; just like Phil Mickelson! As the storms came across the Chicago land area, it did not put a damper on the Blackhawks Parade! Alex R showed us who the real heavyweight champion of the world is with his championship-winning bout in the Gaga Pit. Keep it up Alex! Hopefully next week will bring sunshine and some great times for Adam's Blackhawks here at Jay's Camp.
Zack's Soda Pop
What a great first week for the Soda Pop! We had a lot of fun meeting
Each other and getting into the swing of things at Jay's. We got into
The World Cup fever this week with Nate L. having a monster
Performance in Leagues by playing shutdown goalie and scoring a goal! Jake N. displayed his myriad baseball talents, smacking two hits, playing error-free defense and leading his team to victory! Duncan P. showed off his adventuresome side by climbing all the way up the climbing tower on his first try! I cannot wait to see all of the fun that we are going to have in Week 2.

Joe's Scorpions
This was a great first week at camp. It was fantastic to see all the familiar faces as well as meet some new campers. Nick B. was one of those new faces and had no problem fitting right in. During leagues Nick was smashing home runs like he had played at jays all his life. Will K. completely took over jump shot with an unheard of 5 wins in a row. WOW!!!! Keep up the good work everyone, and thanks for a wonderful first week
Silver's Hawks
Wow!! What a first week of camp for Silver's Hawks! You couldn't write a better script for this group to start of what is sure to be a legendary summer here at Jay's Camp. Before I get into the stud accomplishments that these guys racked up this week, I just want to say how excited I am to have 14 of the best kids in camp (don't tell the other groups...) Within the first hours on the first day of camp, Jonah G. scored 2 goals in hockey and led his team to victory! Way to go Jonah, maybe the Blackhawks should let you hoist the cup!! In that same hockey game, Jeremy F. was showing shades of Anti Neimi as he flashed the leather and pitched a shutout helping his team put one up in the win column. Way to go Jeremy! On the other side of camp, Noah S. and Nick F. absolutely dominated the Ga-Ga courts. I mean these guys were on a whole different playing field, way to go fells! On Wednesday, the Hawks traveled with the rest of Sports Camp to Lake Zurich's Homerun Sports and Fitness Center due to the rain. However, the Hawks didn't let a little rain spoil their fun, in fact, they had even more fun! The highlight of the day was clearly Eli F. 5 goal performance in soccer including juking out yours truly for the last one. Let me repeat that...5 GOALS!!! Way to go Eli, USA could sure use your golden leg in South Africa this summer!! Silver's Hawks had an unbelievable week to kick off the summer of 2010 here at Jay's Camp and if this was any indication, I believe this could be the best summer yet! Way to go fellas, keep up the good work!

Albert’s Troublemakers
Wow! What an amazing first week here at jays camp. Everybody really got off to a great start! On the basketball court Brad R. was really lighting it up as he drained shot after shot to lead his team to victory. In the hockey arena Ryan D. and Jack Wiley battled as an opposing team captains. They really put on a display of awesome hockey talent! Maybe we will see them in the Stanley cup finals one day! On the baseball diamond Jeremy O. had some clutch hits that helped secure a win for his team! He really has some ice flowing through his veins. The first week of camp was truly spectacular and I can't wait for what week two has in store for us!
Mike's Jayhawks
Welcome campers to the first week of another action packed year here at Jay’s camp! So far this week has been a blast. On Monday we played running bases but we changed the rules a little once you were out you went in the middle and introduced yourself to the group and said your favorite thing to do at home, and your favorite thing to do at camp! This was a lot of fun because much to the boys surprise they had a ton in common. They shared their favorite videogames and exchanged awesome sport stories! Then on Tuesday we got to use the climbing wall all the guys gave the wall a try and our goal is that next time we do the wall that everyone improves just a little and maybe by the end of summer all the Jayhawks can make it to the top! One camper who didn't need improvement on the wall was Robert W. On his first attempt up the wall he chose the hardest side to climb and he made it to the top and back down in 30 seconds!! I think we could have a real life Spiderman on our hands! As you know Wednesday was cold and rainy but that didn't stop our fun here. All of sports camp went to homerun baseball training warehouse in Lake Zurich. We played a bunch of different games there from baseball to running bases, to steal the bacon. When we were playing steal the bacon Christopher P. Went against the fastest 6th grader in camp and he won! This is Chris's first year here in camp and I think he's fitting right in taking away the steal the bacon crown from the former champ! That wraps up week one here at jays I will talk to you all next week!

The crew
We had an up and down weather week to kick off the summer at jays. We saw everything from rainy days to scorching hot beautiful days. Our group played several different sports and fun activities such as
Dance, where Shayne G. Lead the way and really set the tone for the
group. Shayne showed us some of his awesome dance moves as they learned a new routine from the specialist. Thanks Shayne for your great energy. Another game we played during the week was dodge ball. Two people that stood out while we were playing were Matthew S. and Tyler S. They were throwing other kids out left and right while managing to dodge other kids throws. Good thing they know how to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge.
K's Swagdaddys----
Another summer has begun at Jay's camp and this year is starting out even better than the last! We had some rain but the Swagdaddys didnt let that stop them. Eric Carter showed some amazing dexterity and skills in the field with a one handed snag on a laser down the line! Great work Eric! Vania Martin showed us some World Cup fever with his fútbol expertise this week putting in 7 of his teams 9 goals. Two hat tricks without even breaking a sweat! Great job Vania!
